A day in London, Part 2

I am doing this in 3 sections because I was having problems publishing. I think I have it figured now!

So after Buckingham Palace, Ross and I had a quick bite to eat and then it was off to Parliament! Ross had bought tickets ahead of time.  It was incredible. The detail in the architecture was amazing. We saw the House of Lords which has a throne for the queen completely made out of 23.5 karate gold. It was gorgeous! She sits there once a year and reads a speech. On the opposite side is the House of Commons where the queen is not allowed to enter. This chamber was very plain in comparison to the chamber of Lords. When the members of the House of Commons debate issues and laws they have a voting system where there is an no room and an aye room and each member picks a room and that is how the vote is casted. It is not anonymous.
It was a great tour and the pieces of art and architecture were breathtaking.

Unfortunately we were not allowed photos once inside but I have a few posted of the outside, the clock tower and the stained glass window photo is a present the Queen received this year in celebration of 60 years of being Sovereign.
